We maintain full chain-of-custody documentation, can provide serialized asset lists, and certificates of destruction for all data-bearing assets. Our processes support or exceed compliance requirements including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and SOX.

Yes. Every data destruction service includes documentation. We provide:

  • Certificates of Recycling (for obsolete equipment to be recyced through our comprehensive downstream supply chain for all materials)
  • Serialized inventory and Certificates of Destruction (for data-bearing devices)

Our Settlement Reports and Certificates include detailed asset information, destruction methods, dates, and locations – proving clear documentation to support, audit, regulatory and compliance requirements.

Pricing and Value Recovery

We do not require a strict minimum quantity, as every project is unique. However most projects are subject to minimum volumes or a basic service charge. This typically covers:

  • Professional white-glove removal services and secure transportation
  • Certified data destruction
  • Compliance documentation
  • Responsible recycling and downstream processing

For smaller volumes of assets distributed across the region or country, our mail-back program may be a cost-effective option. Call or email us for a custom quote.

Our services are not always free, but we strive to deliver value, and where possible, a positive return for our clients.

For healthcare, education and enterprise clients, we often provide compensation or revenue share for assets that can be refurbished for continued use in bulk. When equipment is too obsolete or has limited reuse value, a basic service fee may apply to cover the operational costs of providing professional, certified ITAD services up to our Sycamore standards for excellence – including the secure handling, data destruction, compliance requirements, and responsible recycling.

Pricing depends on the type of equipment, volumes, and specific serfice requirements, and we’re happy to provide a free customized quote.

For residential customers, we offer free drop-off recycling for accepted items as a service to our community.

Potentially, yes – especially for newer equipment and sufficient volumes. Our business is built around the circular economy, with a strong focus on maximizing value recovery while ensuring all materials are routed into responsible reuse and recycling streams.

Certain working assets and higher value enterprise equipment may qualify for value recovery through secure remarketing. Our team evaluates equipment during intake and processing, and will provide an estimate as needed or a comprehensive settlement report when applicable.

Sustainability at Sycamore

Sustainability is central to how Sycamore operates. We’re committed to keeping electronics out of landfills and maximizing reuse and material recovery wherever possible.

Key elements of our sustainability approach include:

  • Certified responsible recycling (R2v3) to ensure high environmental and worker-safety standards
  • Reuse-first processing to extend the life of equipment when appropriate
  • Zero-landfill practices through verified downstream processing
  • Clean energy operations, including a solar-powered campus supported by an on-site microgrid and energy storage
  • A long-term focus on circular economy outcomes, helping customers reduce waste and improve sustainability reporting

By combining secure ITAD with responsible recycling and renewable energy operations, Sycamore helps organizations meet both their data security requirements and their sustainability goals.

ITAD Basics

ITAD (IT Asset Disposition) is the secure and environmentally responsible handling of end-of-life IT equipment. Proper ITAD helps organizations manage:

  • Data security and risk reduction
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Environmental responsibility
  • Value recovery and asset reporting

Our end-to-end process ensures your assets are handled securely from pickup through final disposition.

All data-bearing equipment is processed using NAID AAA certified methods first. Equipment is then:

  • Evaluated for remarketing or reuse (when appropriate)
  • Dismantled for material recovery
  • Sorted and sent to vetted downstream processors aligned with R2v3 standards
  • Managed to ensure hazardous materials are handled properly

We maintain a zero-landfill approach through responsible downstream processing.

Yes. We support data center decommissioning and large-scale ITAD projects, including secure logistics, serialized inventory  reporting, and certified data destruction.
